The Highland Games
Scottish clans will gather on Saturday, August 2 on the green fields of Greenmead for the 176th Annual Highland Games.
This celebration of Scottish culture will feature pipe bands, Highland dancing, heavy athletics, the “Parade of Clans,” a vibrant marketplace of Celtic crafts and more. The night before, the community will come together for the lively Cilidh, Metro Detroit’s premier Scottish concert, kicking off the weekend with music steeped in tradition.

Jenny's Inspiring Journey
Sapporo's owner, Jenny Wu and her family came to the U.S. in 1981 with only $30 and two suitcases to escape the political turmoil in China.
Her first impression of America was the “brightness and happiness” of the streets compared to the darkness back home.
What began as her mother’s attempt to help a family friend evolved into a lifelong career for Wu, who eventually expanded the family business to include multiple restaurants in Southeast Michigan, including Wasabi Novi, Lucky Kitchen, and JJ Crab House.
